The 2010 Priddis & Millarville Fair, along with Millie the Massey, was a resounding success which produced a monumental financial result of $42,000 in net profit versus the 2009 deficit of $10,000. Total revenues jumped from $40,000 in 2009 to $110,000 including sponsorship funding going from $20,000 to $53,000. Special Events brought in $14,000 and Priddis contributed $10,000 from an MD of Foothills program that was designed to fund the Fair Book production costs. The Fair budget for 2011 indicates gross revenues of $102,000 versus operating expenses of $85,000 for a positive net result of $17,000.
Obviously the community is solidly behind the continuation of the Fair, which was demonstrated by a significant increase in Fair entries to a record-breaking 4,000 as well as the increase in youth participation.
The dedication of the “Friends of the Fair” and the efforts of hundreds of volunteers and sponsors deserve all of our admiration and thanks!
Good Luck and continued good fortune for 2011……….Have a Fair day filled with FUN!
