8:30 A.M. TO 4:30 P.M. AND A FULL DAY WITH THE FAMOUS MILLARVILLE FARMERS’ MARKET TOO!!
Remember, the deadline to get your entries into the Fair is August 1. Fair Book is on-line now!!
The 104th Annual Priddis & Millarville Fair is one of the last, great, traditional, old-time Agricultural Fairs in Canada.
Founded in 1907 and held every year since, the Fair today is a wondrous extravaganza for kids in particular, with a Kid’s World, a petting zoo, big horses, small horses, hayrides, roping competitions and ribbons awarded in junior events ranging from photography to baking to 4-H. The day is a big one for adults as well, including a multitude of competition ribbons and a parade, not to mention a full day integrated with the famous Millarville Farmers’ Market.
You see, coming out to the Fair is is only half the fun you COULD have. The other half lies in participating in the Fair, putting your best crafts, baking, grains and grasses and animals up for those all-important winning ribbons that are keepsakes forever.
Entering the Fair is easy and there is certainly something for everyone of any age group. Be sure to check out our Fair Book and Entries On-Line pages for a full day schedule and bench categories.
The Fair this year will be a waypoint for Wild Pink Yonder’s cancer ride on horseback, with an “On Track For Breast Cancer Research” fundraising walk around the track. The Fair also feature a new and hilarious Working Farm Truck Competition which we would urge all of our farmer and ranch friends to enter. We know you all have some pretty beat-up farm trucks with extra points awarded for jumper cables on the passenger seat, quarts of oil rolling on the floor, a dog in the back . . . . .
Reggie, our eight-foot tall, 400 lb rooster (we’re not making that up) will also end his century-long journey home with help from all of the kids and adults in our community entering an essay and art contest, the details for which you can find on our “Contests & Fun” page . . . . . and you can win him in a raffle as well.
An important addition this coming year is an Acreage Equipment Show.
In 2010, we had more than 4,000 bench entries while over 7,000 came out and enjoyed the Fair. To see what the Fair is all about, visit out “A Day At The Fair” photoblog on this website. Be part of the fun and join us at the 104th Annual Priddis & Millarville Fair on August 20.
Lastly, for extra bonus fun, one of our nearby cows has been a keen observor of the Fair for a while now and offers her first-cow perspectives on Fair happenings in the space below, in spite of a lack of opposable thumbs for typing:
